Biography

More about me...

Baptiste Charvet grew up in a family of musicians. His mother, Martine Geliot, is an internationally renowned harpist; his father, Benoit Charvet, is a jazzman and composer. Mel Bonis, her great-great-grandmother, is a very popular composer today.

Baptiste started playing the piano at the age of 5. 10 years later, he won the 1st prize at the Conservatory of Asnières-sur Seine, before perfecting his skills under the teaching of Jean-Noel Roux (student of the great master Aldo Ciccollini).

With this solid basis as a classical musician and his growing love for synthesisers,   he composes his first piece at home at 15. No more doubts, music will be his life. At 20, he naturally began his career as a composer for film by creating for television, documentaries, advertising and cinema.

Since then, Baptiste has had the honor of writing music for more than 70 films, major cinema and television films, of working for major French, American and worldwide producers. Advertising and short films occasionally cross his path . He also composed music and melodies for Grand Corps Malade on 4 of his major albums (including Midi 20 and Plan B) with more than 1 million albums sold.

Several of his film and documentary scores are now available from prestigious labels such as CEZAME Music Agency and BMG Music Production, with which they collaborate on soundtracks or albums in which freer music can be written. .
